ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Lenni and I am a 21 year old dog walker and petsitter based in Aberdeen City, Scotland. I offer dog walking, petsitting, and pet check-in services within the city. Currently I am taking a gap year before applying to SRUC Veterinary Nursing degree course starting 2027 – the clinical/medical side of Animal Care has always been my biggest passion.

I am qualified with an NC, HNC, and HND in Animal Care certified by SRUC Aberdeen. I am insured & successfully completed a DBS Level 1 Disclosure check. At home I currently own a retired rescue Sprocker Spaniel called Boo, and three cats called Spook, Loki, and Pluto.

MY SERVICES

Solo walks: 30 minutes and 60 minutes. I currently do not offer group sessions as I currently find working 1-1 with your dog is best! This allows me to really get to know their behaviour & learn any quirks or habits.

Overnight and daytime petsitting in the owners home.

Pet check ins: 15, 30, 45, and 60 minute slots available.

For every service we will arrange a free 30 minute meet & greet where I come to your home to meet both yourself & your pet(s). We will discuss a range of bits including diet, medical conditions (if any), behaviour, and their routine (plus much more). Every booking comes with LOTS of photo and video updates for owners peace of mind – with consent photos will also be uploaded to my social media for content purposes.

Thanks to my education & training I am also certified & confident to handle and administer oral and/or topical medications following owner instruction, as well as cat & small mammal nail trimming (I am currently furthering my practice for dog clipping as we unfortunately didn’t get this opportunity at SRUC outwith theory teaching).

Experienced with older animals – specifically if they are blind, deaf, and/or have mobility difficulties.

Experienced with all household domestic species – not just dogs and cats!

MY STORY

In 2022, after finishing my final year in Academy, I applied to the NC Animal Care course at SRUC Aberdeen as a start-up into my career with animals while still deciding between clinical vs rescue work. I was accepted and graduated in June 2023 with a certificate in Animal Care – I immediately applied for my second year at SRUC Aberdeen in a Higher National Certificate course in Animal Care again to further my education & knowledge, which I graduated in June 2024. I carried on my education at SRUC Aberdeen Campus and applied for my final year in the Higher National Diploma course in Animal Care, I graduated in June 2025 at Glasgow University.

Within my 3 years of extensive study we covered a HUGE variety of topics (over 50) – SRUC was tough and we were expected to pass every module with an A in order to recieve certification! A range of topics I studied included (but not limited to): Animal First Aid & Handling, Animal Nutrition, Animal Welfare, Animal Health & Disease, Dog Behaviour, and Animal Parasitology. We also worked with animals hands-on daily at our Animal Care Unit including equine, small mammals, avian, reptiles, amphibians, and fish – allowing me to offer petsitting to ALL household domestic species, not just dogs and cats!

In the middle of my Diploma course in October 2024, I decided to start up my own pet care business – this allowed me to utilise my education & experience for pet owners in the city so that they could feel at complete peace of mind handing the responsibility of their pets into someone who has dedicated years of study to it, but also create my own working hours around my full-time education. Ever since then it has grown amazingly and I am now working with multiple owners throughout Aberdeen and come highly recommended.

To the pet care industry I bring a massive 3 years of in-depth education and training both theory & hands-on, I have also completed 80 hours of volunteer work combined in both clinical environments (including Bridge Vets at Bridge of Don) and animal rescue environments (including Halfpenny Animal Farm in Kintore), and lifelong pet ownership experience myself. So far I have owned a GSD, Sprocker Spaniel, 4 ferrets, and 5 cats.

Thank you for reading about me and my business Paws and Claws! I look forward to working with & looking after your pets.
